Welcome to my Magical Blog
My name is Iliari Diaz and I am an International Student from Guadalajara, Mexico studying Culinary Management at George Brown College and working as a Cook in DaiLo Restaurant, in Toronto, Canada. In this blog I am going to share wonderful recipes and tips during my culinary journey.

How It All Started
The Roots
It all started from my mother who has always had a passion for growing organic fruits & vegetables and providing the healthiest meals possible to my whole family. My father, an indigenous leader, also taught me to always respect and value all sources of food.
Why do I want to be a Chef?
I am a person full of dreams and passions who loves both art and magic. Nothing makes me happier than the balance between creating and sharing. Cooking is the way that I achieve this. Since I was a child I always knew the kind of adult I hoped to become, one who provides both happiness and unity among the people I surround myself with.
Today I have found my place in the middle of the kitchen fire, the knives and the infinite variety of ingredients to create my dishes, in this way I share the magic of the flavors.

How It Got Started
All the paths that I have taken in my life have always led me to cooking. Was it fate?Â
At 17 I started my career studying for a Food and Beverage Diploma at CONALEP 2010 - 2013.

Working in The Industry
From a young age I have always worked in the Gastronomy Industry. All of my jobs have been related to food, restaurants & events surrounding the Culinary Industry. At times I have even held upwards of three jobs due to the economy but the Culinary Industry has always provided me with a home and food in my stomach.

My own restaurant
At the age of 23 I ventured into the biggest project I have ever had, my own business. I started with a small place in a mall, and after three years I had my own Japanese Themed Restaurant. It was a small/local business that surrounded me with many amazing people, great experiences and a strong sense of community.

New Routes, New Knowledge.

Starting a new adventure as a foreigner in a new country. I have had the wonderful opportunity to study Culinary Management at GBC while working in one of the best restaurants in Canada. DaiLo, with Chef Nick Liu, is an incredible Asian cuisine restaurant from which I hope to learn a lot.
